We are Martin and Natasha Lee. We are both qualified and experienced translators. English is our first language, so we’ll make sure your translation sounds natural. We also translate to English from French and German. We are based in the UK but work with clients across Europe, particularly in France and Germany. With two people working on your text there is always a second pair of eyes to provide a valuable double-check. First, one of us researches the specific subject area and then produces the first translation. For this we use online and offline dictionaries and any client-specific style guides and glossaries. Next, the other checks this first translation. In this stage we are aiming to ensure your text sounds natural and flows freely. We carefully examine and discuss at length specific terms and phrases to further improve and add a final polish to your translation.
Do you need to speak English in meetings or conferences with key clients or chat to hosts or visitors informally? Podcasts, radio and written materials can help refresh your understanding of English, but to get it right you need to practise speaking. We offer live one-to-one online sessions to boost your active English. We prepare by researching your business, market and clients. We then design the session to help you speak English in a way that makes sense for you.
Before becoming a translator, Natasha worked in education, served as a school governor and established a successful illustration and design business, which still runs today. She has a joint honours degree in French and Visual Art and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and an LFTA member and contributing artist.
Martin worked in business education as a teacher and subject leader before starting translation in 2012. He gained a first-class degree in Business Administration and German and a Postgraduate Certificate in Modern Languages Education. He also holds the Chartered Institute of Linguists’ Diploma in Translation and is a Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
